Cory Nelson with the Madison Wisconsin Police Department joins the CIT ECHO to talk about their innovative approach to opiate use in their community. This initiative is called MARI (Madison Addiction Recover Initiative), which focuses on treating someone instead of jailing them. It is a unique program and listen in for more on it. Matt Tinney and Ben Melendrez start this off discussing 911 systems and how they work. What happens when you call 911 for someone in another state? This was a topic on the CIT ECHO, www.goCIT.org/CIT-ECHO. If you would like to join the network please email Jenn Earheart (jearheart@cabq.gov). If you have any questions or just want to shout out to us send us an email at Ask@goCIT.org.
